Maria Louisa Edwards,  James’s fourth  grandchild was born.

On the 3rd June, James’s younger brother and former partner Thomas died, aged 46. The cause of death was recorded as 'Plithisis' which was the old name for pulmonary tuberculosis.

Two further grandchildren were born during this year – Robert Edwards and Annie Mary Williamson.
